12 Life Misconceptions

Life is complex, and this makes us view life differently from our different sides of life. Sometimes our views are right, and sometimes we are wrong. I identify here, 12 different views or misconceptions people make when they tend to focus on the first side of the coin while losing their view of the most important side. My views may or may not be the right view, but I am definitely making my points known here. I hope somebody would gain some insights from them.

1. Life is not only in eating but in reading.
What you eat can sustain you for a few hours, but what you read can carry you for life.

2. Life is not only in feasting but feeding.
While feasting could result in wastage and obesity, feeding would satisfy your hunger and nutritional needs appropriately.

3. Life is not only in dancing but in marching.
While dancing around will reduce your forward movement, marching forward will get you to your destination in time.

4. Life is not in sex (gender) but in sense (intelligence).
Being a male or female person does not make anyone great, it is our level of intelligence that determines our greatness in life.

5. Life is not in lust but in love.
While lust could lead to immoral deeds and crimes, love brings unity and peace to our community.

6. Life is not only about singing but about worshiping.
People sing (consciously or unconscionably) to promote what they worship/ admire. Singing a song just because someone sings it could bring you into a "wrong world".

7. Life is not in enduring people but in enjoying them.
Enduring people makes people get sensational, but enjoying them makes them feel loved.

8. Life is not only in talking but in speaking.
We talk to talk, but we speak to make a point. Only speak when you have a point (not always necessary to speak).

9. Life is not only in communication but meditation.
During communication, we give out knowledge. During mediation, we form the wisdom to forge ahead in life.

10. Life is not only in multitude but in attitude.
Moving with a multitude of people with the wrong attitude will end in being destitute, but moving with a person with the right attitude will command a multitude.

11. Life is not only in the length of life but in the depth of it.
It is not how long a person lives that makes a difference, but how deep is the impact of a person's life that matters.

12. Life is not only in what you feel but in what you think.
What you feel does not control your life, but what you think determines everything in your life.

Setting The Right Priority

Priority means first thing first. Setting priority means making first thing first in your daily life. It also means spending your time on things that are of most importance or value to you. It's like doing things that matters. It's committing yourself to tasks that would have grave consequences if let undone, or giving yourself to an assignments that would bring you the most profitable rewards.

Setting priority is one of the most successful habit you can have.  It's one factor that contribute most to the success of every great individuals you have seen. It can makes somebody out of nobody, and can turn slaves to kings when practiced.

This is it: setting priority makes things to become more important in your life. Once you give your time continuously to something,  the thing would increase and tend  to 'dominate' your life.  You would give more time, thoughts, actions and physical space to such thing. Everywhere around you would speak about the things you have prioritized in your life.

For example,  if your first priority is to make money, you would always think about how to make money.  You would talk to people about money, you would purchase books on making money, and you would want to associate yourself with people that you know that can give you money - the thoughts of money will become your priority. It will dominate and control your time.

The point I'm making is this: only give priority to things of high value in  your life. Abolish all the irrelevant things, and commit yourself to only activities that would make you great in life.
